St Johns Church, Manthorpe
This project was a true labour of love; giving us the ultimate opportunity to showcase the exemplary skills of our workforce. But also providing us with the rush of fulfilment by getting to hand over the much-anticipated project to the local community.
The scheme of works was extensive; majorly transforming the original church but also incorporating a modern extension. This modern extension has provided a much sought-after community hall with upgraded welfare facilities and a parish office.
Within the original church we sympathetically restored the entrance door and laid new Ancaster Stone slabs. The new slabs have been beautifully engraved with the date the church was built and the date of our works.
The pews, which were in a very sorry state, were brought back to our in-house joinery facility in Boston and were lovingly restored. They are now not only aesthetically pleasing but provide a much higher level of comfort for the parishioners. Trench heating was also installed to keep the Church warmer during the winter months. The external areas to the church were upgraded with a high- quality resin ensuring easy access for all, all year round.
We have received some fantastic feedback from members of the heritage community, parishioners and even passers-by about this project. We think the finished photos really demonstrates why!
